Professional Rug Care

Rug Washing & Repair

Professional rug care begins with understanding the rug in front of us. Construction, materials, dyes, age, condition, previous repairs and the customer’s concerns are considered before washing or repair is recommended.

Professional Rug Washing

Every rug is evaluated before washing. Construction, fiber content, dyes, age, condition, fringe, prior repairs, visible staining and areas of wear are considered before a cleaning approach is recommended.

The purpose of professional washing is to remove accumulated soil and surface contamination as safely and effectively as the rug allows, while respecting its materials and construction. Different rugs can require different levels of care, so the same process is not automatically used for every rug.

Where appropriate, attention may also be given to spots, odors and areas of heavier soiling. Some stains, discoloration, fading, dye migration, previous chemical damage or permanent wear may not be completely reversible. If we identify a condition that could materially affect the expected result, we want to discuss it with you before service proceeds.

Our objective is appropriate professional care and meaningful improvement—not an unrealistic promise that an older or damaged rug will become new again.

Professional Rug Repair

Rug repair begins with understanding where the rug is weakened or damaged and what type of intervention is appropriate for its construction and condition. We look at the affected area together with the surrounding foundation, pile, edges, fringe and any previous repairs.

Depending on the rug and the nature of the damage, repair recommendations may address worn or separating edges, damaged fringe, localized tears, openings, weakened foundation, pile loss or other areas that require stabilization or reconstruction.

The appropriate repair is not always the most extensive repair. In some cases, stabilizing a vulnerable area may be preferable to attempting a larger cosmetic reconstruction. In other cases, more detailed work may be justified by the rug’s construction, condition, appearance and value.

Before work begins, the proposed scope is discussed with you so that you understand what is being recommended and what improvement can reasonably be expected. Existing wear, fading, previous repairs and material loss can affect how closely a repaired area can match the surrounding rug.

Evaluation Before Service

We do not want a customer to authorize work without understanding what is being proposed. Before washing or repair is scheduled, we consider the rug, the condition you are concerned about and the work being requested.

If there are limitations, risks or conditions that may affect the expected result, those should be identified before the work proceeds. Evaluation does not authorize service by itself; the scope and next step are discussed with you first.

How the Process Begins

The first steps are designed to understand the rug and the customer’s concern before any service is scheduled.

1. Tell Us About the Rug

Describe the rug, the condition you are concerned about and whether you are considering washing, repair or both.

2. Evaluation

We review the information available and determine what additional inspection or discussion may be appropriate before recommending work.

3. Discuss the Scope

The recommended service, relevant limitations and the next step are discussed before work is authorized or scheduled.
